John Young the City Treasurer has a private CPA practice in Nitro. John obtained his BS from Morris Harvey in 1975 and his Masters from the College of Graduate Studies in 1983. He earned his CPA in 1986. John has 20 years experience as a Company Controller and has been in private practice as a CPA for 15 years. John joined the Army in 1969 and received an honorable discharged as a Captain 1974. He has been serving as the City Treasurer since November 2007.
As City Treasurer, John is responsible for budgeting, collecting the City’s Revenues and paying all of the City’s bills. His office is in City Hall and he is available for questions every morning
