The Nitro Fire Department has a complement of 11 professionally certified and highly trained firefighters, who provide on-duty fire protection for the city 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A full staff on-duty Fire Department assures you of a quicker response time for your emergency, which could be the difference between life and death.
The NFD also trains and equips its firefighters to be technicians in medicine, Hazardous Material, Swift Water Rescue, Scuba Diving and Urban Search and Rescue. Whether its a fire, flood, heart attack or car accident, the NFD stands trained and ready to assist you in your time of need.
The NFD offers a class of protection 4 insurance rating which can decrease your insurance premiums, saving you money while adding protection to your family and property. With future expansion, the City of Nitro project plans to build an additional Public Safety Station near the Wal-Mart area saving you additional time and money.
